This week, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to some of our incredible parent partners who continue to make a meaningful difference in our school community. Ricardo Lainez and Desiree Sepulveda, thank you for representing our families on the AVID Showcase panel and sharing your perspectives so thoughtfully. I would also like to thank Sophia Souvannasy and Tamara Lainez for taking time to serve on the panel supporting Mrs. Foley as part of her County Employee of the Year recognition—your presence and voice truly mattered. As the saying goes, “When schools and families work together, children don’t just succeed—they thrive.” We are so grateful for the strong partnerships we have with all of you.
Also this week, our students will participate in a Growth Mindset assembly designed to help them feel confident, prepared, and motivated as we head into state testing next week. We are focusing on encouraging students to embrace challenges, stay positive, and put forth their very best effort. As we enter this important testing window, attendance becomes even more critical than usual. Being present each day helps students stay on track and avoids the need for make-up testing, which can be stressful and disruptive to their routine. To celebrate strong attendance, any student with perfect attendance for the week during the month of May will be invited to enjoy “Popcorn with the Principal” each Friday—a fun way to recognize their commitment!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support in helping our students succeed.
Warmly,
Carisa Cordova
Principal
